Petitioner Isam Taylor brings a personal restraint petition attacking his conviction for assault in the second degree while armed with a deadly weapon. He alleges that a jury instruction found unconstitutional after his conviction became final impaired his right to a fair trial. Alternatively, he argues that, even if his conviction is upheld against attack, the deadly weapon and firearm special verdict instruction was likewise constitutionally defective, and his enhanced sentence must therefore be reduced. For the reasons discussed below, we deny the petition.
